Description:
The book of Ruth may be one of the loveliest short stories ever written, telling an unforgettable tale of purity, faithfulness, innocence, loyalty, duty, and love. Yet it is set in dark times. The final verse of the book of Judges, which precedes Ruth in the Bible, tells us that “in those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes” (Judges 21:25). The time was marked by apostate religion, lawlessness, invasions, and tribal war. Against this backdrop of strife and chaos, Ruth is a story of ordinary people in Bethlehem making the most of their bad situation—and finding God in the midst of it. Through this 6-session Bible study, Alistair Begg reminds us that no matter how dark or dramatic our days may seem, God still protects His people and accomplishes His purposes. Within life’s humdrum and routine events, we discover His loving hand at work. *** This group is kid-friendly***

Description:
Mosaic is a church small group built on a simple idea: a mosaic is beautiful precisely because the pieces are not identical. Our members come from different sectors of life — business and trade, healthcare, education, technology, ministry, law, civil service, the arts, students and homemakers — and from different seasons and stages, men and women alike. What we share is not a profession or a background but a faith, and a conviction that God places people in different fields on purpose. We meet to study Scripture together, pray for one another, and think honestly about what following Christ looks like on Monday morning and not only on Sunday. Members bring the questions their own world raises, and the group is stronger for the range of answers in the room. Anyone is welcome, whatever your work and wherever you are on the journey. "There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them." — 1 Corinthians 12:4

What if instead of ignoring our feelings, we noticed them, named them, and let God use them to draw us closer to himself and others? Many of us need to unlearn damaging messages about our emotions. We’ve been taught, for example, that emotions are untrustworthy, when, in fact, God can use them to help us see where we need his healing. In this six-session series, Jennie Allen uses scientific research, biblical insight, and her own story to help you name and navigate your emotions and learn how they can draw you closer to the God who made you—soul, mind, and heart.
